Design and Structure

L-type gantry cranes combine sturdy construction with specialized designs to effectively manage long or awkward loads. Their essential components work cohesively to provide stability, clearance, and accurate load control in various industrial environments.

  • Main Components: An L-type crane consists of a horizontal bridge beam, vertical "L" shaped support legs, a crane traveling system, an electric trolley, and a complete electrical control system. The bridge beam carries the hoist and trolley. The support legs anchor the bridge and transfer loads to the base. The traveling system moves the entire crane along its runway. The electric trolley runs along the bridge, lifting and positioning loads. The electrical system powers and coordinates all motions.
  • L Shaped Legs: The signature "L" shaped legs provide generous under-beam clearance at one end. Long materials such as beams, pipes, or extrusions can pass through the open side without obstruction. This design also allows side-loading operations in tight workspaces. The legs tie back to the bridge beam to ensure rigidity under load.
  • Electric Trolley: Motorized trolley contains hoist motor, gearbox and braking system. Optional precision wheels and variable frequency drives are available for smooth operation along the main beam.

Safety Features:

L-type gantry cranes include multiple built-in systems to protect operators, equipment, and loads. These safety features work together to detect hazards and halt operations before accidents occur.

  • Overload Protection: The crane comes with an integrated overload protection device. It constantly measures the lifted weight. If the load exceeds the rated capacity, the system triggers an audible alarm and warning light. This early warning prevents structural strain and potential failure.
  • Limit Switches: Upper and lower limit switches guard against over-hoisting or over-lowering the hook. When the hoist reaches its maximum or minimum travel point, the switch automatically cuts power to the hoist motor. This prevents cable slack or hook collisions with the crane structure.
  • Emergency Stop System: Large, red emergency stop buttons are positioned within easy reach of the operator. Pressing the button immediately cuts power to all crane motions. This allows rapid shutdown in case of unexpected dangers or system malfunctions.
  • Voltage Protection: The electrical panel features under- and over-voltage protection. If the supply voltage falls outside safe limits, the system locks out the hoist and trolley drives. This safeguard prevents damage to motors, control circuits, and sensitive electronics.
